Dr. Katie Mason

Relief Veterinarian

Dr. Katherine (Katie) Mason was born and raised in Bel Air, MD and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors in Biology from Washington College. Prior to veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary receptionist and assistant at several private veterinary practices. One of her most memorable experiences was spending time in Arkansas as an animal care intern at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, a sanctuary for abused and neglected Big Cats.

Dr. Mason graduated from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After working as a general practitioner in Chesapeake, VA for over six years, she decided it was time to return to her home county to be closer to family. Dr. Mason has a particular interest in client education and loves developing interpersonal relationships with her clients and their pets.

In her free time, Dr. Mason loves going to the beach, going camping and hiking, and just spending time with her husband, daughter and stepdaughters, their two dogs, Viggo (an animal control shelter rescue) and Whiskey, and “twin” kitties Jacen and Jaina (paired humane society rescues). She lives on her small family farm on the Mason-Dixon Line.

Sue-Anne Slonin, Practice Manager of Falls Road Animal Hospital

“One of our veterinarians retired and another veterinarian went on maternity leave, and suddenly, we found ourselves in a difficult position for about 3 months of being short on veterinary coverage. We fortunately found All Four Paws Veterinary Relief. They were able to cover more of our shifts than any other relief companies I contacted. The doctors have been wonderful and easy to work with. Our clients feel they have been well cared for and the relief veterinarians have maintained our high level of service. The relief doctors have adapted to our workflow with ease and have learned our electronic medical record system quickly even though they have not worked with this system in the past. I could not imagine walking into a new veterinary practice, meeting everyone, learning the computer system and attending to appointments as seamlessly as they have done. I would recommend this company to any hospital that needs help covering shifts and needs to pursue the assistance of relief veterinarians.”
