The Dream Team

Dr. Dominique Engel
Dr. Engel grew up in Northern Virginia and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Miami in Florida. She attended veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2014. After graduation, she worked in New York as an equine practitioner at a thoroughbred racetrack for two years.
As she developed an interest in animal welfare, she began to work part time for the USDA Animal Care in the Horse Protection Program, regulating the Tennessee walking horse industry. In 2016, she began to work full time for Animal Care, working with animal breeders, exhibitors, and research facilities. The work was very rewarding, however she missed practicing medicine and working hands-on with the patients.
Looking for a new challenge, she began working in clinics in 2018 and has been a small animal practitioner up to the present. Her professional interests include preventative care, client education, soft tissue surgery, and ophthalmology. Dr. Engel currently lives in Boca Raton with her husband and her two dogs, Luke and Lakota.
