Sara Lewis, DVM, MBA

I grew up on a small farm in rural Frederick County, Maryland.  I loved being able to grow up on a farm, constantly surrounded by a wide variety of animals.  Even at a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. When I was in the fourth grade I was asked to write an essay on what I wanted to be when I grew up. I answered that I wanted to be a teacher or a veterinarian. Thankfully, I feel I am now able to do both.  I attended Wilson College in Pennsylvania, where I double majored in Veterinary Medical Technology and Biology and minored in Chemistry. I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from St. Matthews University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.  After finishing veterinary school, I earned a Masters of Business Administration from Davenport University in 2015.

I have a passion for veterinary medicine, and a clear understanding on the importance of the business side of a veterinary practice. My goal as a veterinarian is to help clients make the most informed decisions on the care of their pets. My special interests include nutrition, client education, and the human animal bond. As a relief veterinarian, I get to utilize my skills in a wide variety of practices within the Virginia and Maryland area.   I strive to practice the highest quality of medicine, and provide compassionate care for both patients and clients.

When not providing relief work, I enjoy hiking, watching movies, rooting for the Washington Capitals, and spending time with my husband, and our little senior Jack Russell Terrier, Spunky.
